Innovations for Improving the Impact of Health Campaigns (Round 24) is a new funding round of Melinda and Bill Gates Foundation. Innovations in approaches, practices, or tools that: dramatically improve the planning and microplanning, implementation / operations, and monitoring and evaluation that will lead to improved effectiveness of campaigns can be applied in low- and middle-income countries will be supported. Open access for scientific publications, Nature 05 November 2018

On 5 November 2018 the Wellcome Trust in the UK  and the Gates Foundation in the United States with more than €2 billion research grants volume in total in 2017 announced that they were joining the open-access initiative, Plan S.
