The gap between public and private clinics in Germany is becoming ever wider in terms of their financial situation. One reason for this is the different levels of investment. Especially in terms of cost coverage and liquidity, public hospitals perform significantly worse than private and non-profit hospitals. However, subsequent invoice corrections by the Medical Service of the Health Insurance Funds (MDK) are also causing increasing concern for hospital management.
